Arm Reduction Brachioplasty

This surgery addresses arm from armpit to elbow to improve its appearance. It improves saggy skin, excess fat and redefines the shape of arm.

Surgical Procedure

Surgery is done in Local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia. If the main problem is excess fat only, liposuction alone is done to address the problem. If it is excess skin and fat, then an incision is made over inner aspect of arm and excess skin and fat is removed. Finally stiches are placed. Dressing are placed and compression garments are worn. 

Effects Of Surgery

Results of surgery are immediately apparent and can be long lasting if patient maintains a stable weight.

  • Anesthesia risks
  • Bleeding
    Infection
  • Poor wound healing
  • Unsightly scarring
  • Fluid accumulation (seroma)
  • Damage to deeper structures such as nerves, blood vessels and muscles
  • Fatty tissue under the skin might die (fat necrosis)
  • Numbness or other changes in skin sensation
  • Pain, which may persist
  • Sutures may not absorb, but spontaneously surface through the skin, causing irritation, drainage and redness
